I cannot figure out if there is a way to make a juke box with opus pro without using script. I don't think there is. What I want to do is add songs to a que or list for playing. I think a script is necessary, and I have no clue how to do scripting, or even where to put the script. Any ideas appreciated.

Basically I want to choose mp3 files(songs)
Adding one, then another, then another,
Etc. Then will play the first song entirely
Then second, etc. And then like any player
Have a button to go to the next song. If this
Page were to be exited from to another page the
Music would continue, and returning to the
Page would allow adding more songs. I hope
I've beem a bit clearer.

Hi Colin,

A basic jukebox is quite simply with actions. Here's a very basic two-minute example.

Mack

P.S Non scripting topics should be in the basic section and you need to add a full profile using the link above with your Opus version and OS.

That's why people need to add profiles to their accounts :-)

How old is old? Here's a Opus 04 example that might load.

Mack

Hi Mack, just wondered if you could point me in the right direction, or whether its possible, in your example you have the 3 variables entered in the text box which are Constant Expressions but to add more mp3's than the three I have to enter more myPlaylist[x]'s isn't there a way to add to the playlist without having to manually add the variable's,

Hope that makes sense

Also I would want the ability to remove entries from the list and also remove them when they've played or mark them as played, presumably thats possible

Only just upgraded to version 6 and finding my feet but if you can help point me in the right direction I'd be grateful and hopefully save some time

Cheers, Colin

Hi Colin,

Welcome to the world of Opus 6. You should find more people willing to help if you attach a basic signature to your posts. At the top of the page is the profile link which will allow you to create a standard signature for any postings.

As for the dynamic playlist, Opus is more than capable, but you're venturing into scripting. The simplest idea I can think of is to create a running variable, whereby you add the last song read in to a single variable but insert a new line break between them thus creating the effect of a list.

For example varA = varA + "\n" + varB

varA is displayed in the textbox. "\n" (in quotes) adds the new line whilst varB is the song read in from the lookup box.

Opus has an interest trick whereby you can use varA and insert the contents into a listbox (instead of a textbox) and make the list dynamic.

Lar posted some examples of this a while back and I have added various ideas to our website.

See the source code exemplars section.

Regards

Mack

Hi Mac, once again thanks for the prompt reply, I have tried what you said and whilst it adds the entries to the list box it appends to the same line rather than adding a new line

playList = playList + "\n" + mySong

Any idea's, also once I've got the list how would I then play them in the order if I haven't got your myPlaylist[0] variables, presumably I'd use the index of the list but where do I find that?

Sorry to bombard you with questions

Cheers
