OPUS v7 has many new features. I was exploring in the QuickBuild section and there are "QuickScript Templates" which reveal another selection menu with 13 options (see attachment). I don't see anything about this in the HELP section, and since its "SCRIPT" I'm not certain how, when, or why you'd use them.

Can someone enlighten me regarding what each one does, and then explain how you use them? Thanks in advance.

I was going to write a scribble about these at some point, but to answer your question now - they are a way of quickly inserting useful code functions. You can create your own, they are just text files with the .ils extension and stored in sub folder of the Opus program.

Be wary though, I thing one or more of them has an error. I'll double check went I write the scribble.

QuickScript templates, as a menu item/tool, behave a lot like Opus Galleries for Objects. That is, the templates are simply kept in a repository which Quickbuild accesses for you. When a template is selected for use, a copy is placed in a new Script Object on the Page (see it in Organizer tree).

There is mention of these in standard Help file under 'Quickbuild' and also 'QuickScript functions' and 'new features'.

DW has included demo of 3 of these scripts in the new OpusPro v7 Sample Publications -- so you can see them in action there.

As for pursuing and learning OpusScript, I encourage you at least explore it and see what you like about it. It is a learning curve however.
Check out the Tutorial section of the Forum -- Graham Baglin has devoted a series of posts to 'beginner scripting'. Also if you Search 'started' and 'scripting' you will find a few other useful discussions.

BTW -- I am adding pics/screenshots of the above... not to be snide, but to encourage others and provide some visual cue to those who may be very new to Opus.
