Hi
It's been a long time since I've posted but my LEA has given us Moodle to fill in our long leisure time. Does anybody know of any tutorials or guides that can inform me of how to make Opus publications Scorm compliant?
Cheers
Dale Warner

Hi Dale,

It'll help greatly if you tell us what version of Opus you're using and probably help to know which moodle version as well.

If it's Opus 6, then it's like to be a struggle as SCORM was available but never worked well. If you've got Opus 7 then you should have no problems as it'll produce both SCORM 1.2 and 2004 SCOs. We helped beta test it using Moodle, and also threw it at several other LMS, and it behaved brilliant. Kudo to DW who really did work very hard to ensure that it ran correctly for both IE and FF.

As of May 2010, Moodle really only works with SCORM 1.2 and because of the limited cmi dataset there is really only a few things that can be read / written making it quite straightforward to design and test your modules. DW even includes various test packages to help.

Regards,

Mack

That'll probably make you the second person this week that hasn't read the announcements section and update to 7.03?

Ah! thanks for that....I had downloaded 7.3 but it failed as it tried to install, I have not had time to download it again. (I have to do that sort of thing at home as the company IT dept don't let us download stuff....only the grown ups can do that!)

Thanks Mack
Unfortunately, I'm still running Opus Pro 4 XE (which has SCORM options) so it looks like I'll need to upgrade and install the 7.3 upgrade too.
Cheers
Dale

Hi Dale,

Welcome back to Opus Ranch!

Maybe this will help you get into the new generation of Opus creation.
-- do you love what you do with multimedia?
-- what is an hour of your professional time worth? (don't answer, just think it)

Upgrade to OpusPro v7.x if the cost is just 5 hours of professional time... It's a no-brainer... it will pay off in short order.

I've seen Opus progress from v5 on... and while it was great back then, it just keeps getting better... adapting and expanding. Sure I do not know / need / use all the features... but it is a well thought-out program with serious commitment to its niche. Lots of things 'just work'!!

I think what is not being said here is that DW has a serious vested interest in making Opus perform as a serious SCORM toolkit.

Good luck.

Opus Pro 7 is a vast improvement over Pro 4 XE, and well worth the money.
If you are using SCORM it's a must have.
