Hello all,

I am having a little issue with Post Web Data:

I have a PHP application which updates a mysql database with news successfully.
I also have a php page called news.php which displays the news from this database with the appropriate code.
The news are both in English but also in Greek, but both languages display ok on the news.php page.
I also have an Opus publication which should also read the news from the database and display them.
It will display English correctly but it will not display the Greek.

Is there any encoding setting that I can change somewhere in Opus?
Or does it have to do with the php file that Opus reads? (not the news.php but the display.php as in the examples).
The php application updates the db and then the news.php shows it correctly so it leads me to believe that it is only Opus that misunderstands the encoding.

Or is it my fonts?

Thanks to all

Dennis

dz,

you have no Profile info or supporting information. i for one hesitate to look into this if i have to start making 'guesses' about possible factors and causes.

please check out this post and consider what information might be helpful to solve issue.

Hi Dennis,

My guess would be that the script object / variables works with character encoding Western (ISO-8859-1) rather than Unicode (UTF-8). The latter displays Greek correctly in Firefox and an Opus Text Box if entered manually.

You could email DW to confirm this and or add it to the wish list.

Regards,

Mack
