I have a medical training application where I need to continuously display EKG strips. I tried animating using move horizontal, which worked except for the interruptions. I saw Robin Garrett's post (thanks Robin!) with a great tip on how to create permanent continuous images. I works great in it's own application, except not so much within another application because the size of the page is much bigger. So, I decided to publish the application where I got it to work (see attached zipped EXE file). So here is where I'm at:

- I can make a perfect EXE file, which I can't seem to embed into another application (can that be done?)

- I can make a perfect AVI file, but the continuous "news ticker" effect I need creates a 674MB file. Every time I try to imbed it into my publication it crashes, and it's going to make my application incredibly bloated since I need a bunch of these EKG strips in the product.

Any ideas? How can I embed something into another application like that?

Any way you could output the animation to SWF format?

Or possibly you could recreate it in HTML with marquee and then use a browser window in your publication.

Just two possibilities I could think of quickly.

I ported the file to an SWF successfully - what do you use to imbed the SWF into an Executable Publication?

The HTML would need to run in a browser window (I think - am I right?) and that will ruin the appearance of the application.

Hi,

Try using DocView and specify the SWF as the file. I tested it this morning with Opus Pro 7.05 and a SWF, and it worked (I set the DocView size the same as the SWF size).

Hope this helps.

Kind Regards,

You can make the browser window look seamless with some CSS. You can use SWFs in video objects.

HI Guys - the video object looked great! Thanks to all you guys for your advice. The product is almost seamless. There is some slight loading time when it transitions between videos, and the flash "LOADING" screen comes up (can that be disabled?).

My challenge now is to write a script that automatically verifies the unlock code online at our server and seeds the local computer so that the unlocked application cannot be successfully moved to another computer or copied. Scripting is not my thing, but I'm willing to vendor it out. Any bright minds out there want a quick paying gig? Please reply to the post and I'll contact you directly.
