I wonder if there is any solution to the problem of Opus "lose" the checkmarks in objects after saving the file.

This happens constantly with me, because I always work with objects in different layers, usually two to four layers.

In more complex design projects, the layers are very unusual in that they allow the manipulation of overlapping objects without risk of undue selections. (Sory for google english...)

This problem, present in the 6.X versions of Opus Pro on my 64 bit Win Seven continues to persist in the 7.X versions. I wonder if it is ultimately the problem of my Opus Pro or Win Seven 64 bits.

This happens several times, so I need to close the software. After that, restart the software, open the file again etc etc. .. very difficult and laborious ...

I do not understand. Please describe the problem with more details. "Where..." are the checkmarks? What type of objects? (you mention "Layer Objects", do you mean the Layer in the Organizer Tree, or do you mean Graphical and other objects (in one Layer) but on the Page?

What are you doing with these objects while Editing or Developing?

I have a Pub that currently has about 15 Layers. Generally no problems, with one exception. My Layer TOOLBAR does not work properly. The show and hide of individual layers is mis-indexed (clicking on one named layer... actually toggles some different Layer --- for the Conceal/Visible_in_Editor feature.) I workaround that be avoiding the Layer Toolbar and either using Right-click context menu, or that standard toolbar Icons for Conceal/Visible.

Suggest you post some screenshots and highlight the issue there.

Lar_123, thanks again for your attention ... I'll try to better describe the problem ...

Within the page, I have four layers with various graphical objects in each. Normally, when changing page, Opus always selects the first layer (1), but several times I need to change properties of a graphic object present in layer 2, 3 or 4 of the page.

I do not know if there is a more direct way to do this, because whenever I switch on the dashboard object layer, the layer palette appears on the screen by default. Until then, I leave for any inconvenience this vane positioned at the bottom right of the monitor. Generally, alternate between different objects of the same layer when I edit their actions and properties without having to close the Properties / Actions. Sometimes I need to select all objects of the same layer, or to edit common properties to copy these objects to another page or chapter of the publication. This increases productivity, since it does not need to close and open the same editing function several times repeatedly in Opus Pro.

When everything works smoothly, the check marks of the object usually appear when I click on this object with the mouse - Annex Pub_001B. But when I switch the layer to select another object, for several times not have to see these marks, as in Annex Pub_001A. So, without due reference to the object selected becomes more demanding edit your actions and properties, because the task of making the necessary changes end up being very boring and time consuming.

I also noticed that the problem usually appears after I saved the file. It is finished running the hourglass of windows and the problem appears ...I'm working for years with graphics software of companies like Adobe and Corel, and never witnessed this problem in any software, as I have seen with these new versions of Opus Pro. It is noteworthy that up to version 5.5 this problem never appeared. Is Opus Pro incompatibility with Win 7 64 bits?

Meanwhile ... as saying in an expression of my country... I'm going in leaps and bounds!

Nillson,
I will reply with several separate replies because there are many facets of your scenario.

First: the Layer toolbar
Quote:
whenever I switch on the dashboard object layer, the layer palette appears on the screen by default.
In your Opus Editor, you can Right Click in an open area of the Toolbars >>>> Customize. There you select which toolbars you want to be visible. So uncheck the Layer Toolbar. There may also be a setting in Preferences, but I think there is not. BTW, you may Dock the Layer Pallette by dragging & releasing it on a toolbar area -- at least it will be out-of-the-way.

Second 'facet': Selecting Layers and related issues when changing Page selection.
Quote:

I do not see the same behavior you describe. (I think that, but maybe I mis-read your comments)

Let's say I am on Page_1_Overview, and want to go to Page_4. If Page_4 has 5 layers and the top-most Layer in the Organizer was previously toggled as visible (i.e., the Layer icon is normal, darker color and not greyed-out) -- then it seems to me 'yes' Opus will choose to "land on" that Layer when selecting and arriving at this Page_4. However (in my experience and observation), if that top-most Layer has been toggled 'conceal in editor', Opus seems to "land on" the Page with NO LAYER SELECTED. Only the Page_4 object here would be selected. I like the way that works.

@Nillson>>>"several times I need to change properties of a graphic object present in layer 2, 3 or 4 of the page"
This is simple. USE the Opus Organizer on the left. Pay attention to what it is showing you.
Also, distinguish between clicking on the "~show hierarchy" icon (the PLUS-sign) and the Layer icons. Clicking on a Layer icon selects it and then makes it visible in the Editor. However, if I Left-click on the PLUS-sign icon, the objects in that Layer are displayed in the Tree(but maybe not on the workspace Page)... and I can Command-Click to Select these objects to edit properties -- without changing Layer visibility (assuming object itself is not concealed).

To the basic point of your "layer 2, 3, or 4..."
When you land on a page and you are not on the desired Layer to edit or develop, it is a simple matter of Left-clicking on Layer_3 icon or name in the Organizer Tree. Then the objects in that layer become active and available for individual editing. The Layer typically will be visible in the workspace page. And any Graphical objects, Text Objects, etc that are set to be "visible in Editor" will be... visible in the Editor. If they were set as "conceal in Editor", you can try to Click to select them -- but they are not active and therefore not really selected (for individual editing).

Tip: when editing Properties of multiple objects, usually (not always) select objects of similar type.
Tip: try using the Organizer Tree more often for selecting multiple objects
Productivity Tip: When I Select Vector_12 and then Vector_4 in the Organizer Tree, and then align Horizontal Centers for example -- Vector_4 will move to Vector_12's Horiz centerline. However, if I perform the same selection on the workspace Page, the first object(s) selected will align to the last object selected.

more later. gotta go.

Lar_123, thanks for the valuable attention and taking the time to solve my problem.

In fact, some things I noticed, as the layer palette in the options program. How foolish of me!

I'm going to share in their tips and advice. As I am developing two simultaneous projects in Opus Pro and the completion date is near, necessary time to analyze it with ease, because I still do not know if your tips with my problem of selection of objects in Opus pages will be resolved...

Still, I am grateful. If the problem persists, I will again ask for help here on this same topic.

Thanks to strength!
