I have recently produced an Opus publication that has a page with a browser window in it to access some off line html pages.
Unfortunately on the playback machine - on certain pages I am getting a Script Error message pop up coming up.
I can dismiss the message and carry on ok - but it is quite an irritation...
Strangely if I load the html pages into internet explorer (on the same playback machine) I dont get the error message pop up?

Does anyone have any idea as to how I can overcome this?

Thanks

Pete

Still not resolved this... I am just wondering if it is due to the system not being connected to the web?
The fact that I dont get the error messages in a browser outside of the Opus pub is perplexing me....
Be good if I could find a way to suppress the message at least. I did a google search on it - but none of the suggestions is working....

Hope everyone is having a peaceful Christmas....

Warm regards

Pete

Firstly,
Happy new year one and all.
And many thanks for all the support to the forum members.

I will be revisiting this project in the next week or two.
I take it that nobody else has encountered this problem?

Should I resolve it myself, I will naturally post my solution/findings.
In the meantime, if anyone has any suggestions, I would be pleased to read them!!!
Warm regards

Pete

Opus doesn't use the same IE engine as will be installed on your W7 machine. It uses the IE7 one. The script fault maybe related to that.

Hello

Same problem here. I am setting up simple a MiniBB chat in a publication, using a Browser object. Runs fine in all browsers, but in Opus Publication I get "Script Errors"

Any solution?

Does all browsers include older versions of IE?

Hello

When I say "all browsers" I mean the following browsers:

Firefox 9.0.1
IE 9
Chrome 17.0
Opera 11
Safari 5.0.3

The I'd suggest trying it with IE7.

Hello again

How will that help when my students will be running the publication on computers that have only newer browsers installed?

As I said above, I don't think Opus uses the browser on your system but uses the IE7 rendering engine instead. Therefore, you need to check that the website will work in that version.

He Pete, can you elaborate a bit more....can you tell us what is the error message displayed. This way it will be more easy to try to elucidate what is the reason of your error. It may be just a piece of html code that it is not being compatible with the browser you are using as default but if you post the error it may help.
Cheers

Hello

I attach two pictures of error messages as well as the file causing the error. Can someone imagine what is wrong or if there is something I can do to correct this?

Jonas

The problem appears to be related to your miniBB board. Even Firefox 9 generates the same error in the console. Other miniBB boards don't appear to have that problem, so I'd trying posting on their support forum to see if one of the regular users can help identify what is causing it.

This thread over three years old but problem with Internet Explorer (11) still remains. I wanted to run .exe Opus application but IE is detected as Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 7.0 ...) instead of Mozilla/5.0.

Is there a way how to force to use IE11 (in browser window in .exe) or any other modern browser for HTML5 pages in Opus?
