Hi All,

I just got a feature request from a customer who wants the option to start my app with certain features disabled, I can do this in the Opus via a database, csv file read, or similar.

But is it possible for an Opus publication to have a command line switch applied, so I could execute like:

For Option Disabled:
C:\OpusApp.exe -0
or Enabled:
C:\OpusApp.exe -1

This would make it a lot easier from the customers point of view.

Thanks, Luke

Yes,

Look up the COMMAND_PARAM in the normal (not script) help.

Hi Mack,

I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong here. I don't want to launch another app with the parameter, I want to launch my own publication and pull the parameter from it on start, so I can create multiple shortcuts to the publication with different activities, but all by loading the same publication.exe.

I have a main menu in my publication, but I want to be able to skip the menu and go direct to the activity. So I have a if/else statement on load to jump direct to the activity, or go to main menu. How do I pull in the switch parameter into Opus on load. If I try what I have below my publication throws an error.

So I am not launching an app from my OpusPublication, it is the OpusPublication I want to apply the parameter to, and pull into the publication on startup so I can do something with it in script. The publication will be launched with a custom shortcut or from the command line.

C:\OpusPub.exe -0
Go to Main Menu

C:\OpusPub.exe -1
Skip Main Menu and Go To Activity 1

C:\OpusPub.exe -2
Skip Main Menu and Go To Activity 2

C:\OpusPub.exe -3
Skip Main Menu and Go To Activity 3

Thanks, Luke

Never thought you did ;-)

If I launch my publication like such:

D:\Untitled1.exe /fishcakes

Then the system variable COMMAND_PARAM_1 will contain the value 'fishcakes'

Ah, perfect, I'm calling the switch incorrectly, a forward slash, not a dash.

Thanks, I'll give it a go tonight.
