Edit 2: Cancel my optimism. My 'solution' below worked initially but has now stopped working for the published flash file and any others that I try to create on my laptop. I can go to another computer with Opus installed and create a working published version there. If anyone has a clue as to what weird craziness is happening, please help! :?
Source files attached - pressing the "c" key should show a text box.

Code:
if (IsKeyPressed("c"))
{
MyText1.Show()
}

Original Problem:
The trigger 'Key Press' and script function IsKeyPressed() don't appear to be supported in flex publications (unless I have missed something obvious).
Is there a way to achieve a solution that recognises key presses for a flash output file?

Edit 1:
Solved my own problem minutes after this post. :oops:
Correct use of the 'Ticker' trigger along with the script function 'IsKeyPressed()' provides a suitable solution.
If anyone knows of a better / alternate method, feel free to reply for others to benefit.

Try using the action method instead of the script.

Action tab > Triggers tab > Advanced > Key press

Thank you for your reply.

After much trial and error,error,error(!!), the problem appears to have been IE10. The final solution that works was to roll back to IE9 and dis-associate the .swf file type on the laptop.All now works fine when I use the publication's html launch file.

If anyone else could confirm IE10 is causing Key Press misbehaviours it would be good to know, otherwise it might just be some strange, unique setup on my laptop.

The client's network on IE8 and Shockwave player V--.700.xx seems happy also, which was vital...

Works fine here > Opus 8.12 and IE10 and Flash 11.8.

Are you sure the Flash Object has focus. Sometimes you need to click on the object as the IE warning box steals it.
