Can someone please confirm that the "right-Click" trigger should work from a flex publication (demo attached to test if required)?

I am publishing to Target version 9, 'Trigger Right Button Actions' & have latest Adobe updates, but cannot get a simple "Show" action to work from a right click trigger (demo should show another button). I have tried the publication on three various machines (IE + Firefox) but still nothing. Works fine in pre-view, so it is not silly typos etc.

VMT for any feedback in advance.

Glen,
You have not provided a profile -- info on your Opus version, your development PC system, and planned client systems could be relevant to this issue.

Meanwhile, here's a bit of info from the Help File for OpusPro v7:
Quote:
Flash New Features and Improvements
Right Mouse Triggers
You don’t even get this in Flash itself! Many training simulations use right mouse triggers but Flash commandeers them. Flex gives you that crucial functionality back (subject to browser support).

Seems fine. As Lar says, no profile - so we've no idea what version we're checking against. If you're all up to date - then it might be because it's running locally and not on a server :-?

Thanks. I'm away from the dev laptop currently (Opus Pro 8.12), but the Client intranet specs are: IE8 (8.0.6001.18702CO) and Flash Player 11.7.700.169 if this helps.

Mack - your link http://sandbox.interaktiv.co.uk/temp/4/ only opens a black screen for me inside the browser on the same Client intranet.

If I understand correctly however:
1. Lar is confirming that right-click tiggers should (do) work fine in Opus Flex generally and
2. Mack is confirming that my published demo IS working (on his setup).

So the solution might be in the browser/player arena at my end? However unless there is a simple setting that I am missing, I'm unlikely to have any control over the network configuration.

I can post my dev specs later if this will help.

No.

My example (white page - blue frame with right click that hides) works fine using latest Opus, Browser and Flash and running on a web server (it fails locally - probably sandbox issue).

You example just showed the context menu.

Mack

Thanks for the clarification. I have a (sort of) positive update....

By uploading the published .html and .swf to the client (Sharepoint) site and running it from there, the publication & right-click functionality works fine. :D
It previously hadn't worked when running it from the network drives. So Mack's line about '...running locally and not on a server' looks to be the key.

However...this still leaves a couple of puzzles:
Puzzle 1: I uploaded both files to my own website last night to no end, so thought the 'server hosted' solution wasn't the issue. I will retry tonight in case my fat fingers were at fault. :?
Puzzle 2: Why would Macks demo not work 'inside' my client's setup, given that my Sharepoint hosted publication does? I can see his demo on my Smartphone & will try the demo from the dev laptop tonight. :?

...And puzzle 3..

Mack - from my dev laptop, your link only opens the home page of your Interaktiv site!!

I've attached my Opus/System specs if they can help.

I've re-tried uploading my demo files to my own webite again, but no change to the issue.

My bad,

Spring cleaning earlier and emptied out the temp folder!

I'll put an example back up later.

Thank you - puzzle 3 solved! Your demo work fine on my home PC + my dev laptop.

So it the solution lies in correct web server hosting, not Opus Pro / Bugs / Browser or Player settings. I will continue to tinker with my 'Puzzles 1&2' but thanks to you & Lar for your assistance.
