I'm trying to create a window/desktop environment. All is working fine apart from the layer order.
Attached is an example so you can see what I mean. If you load it, then click the box, you'll see the wrong one comes to the front.
It seems that the lower window is always clickable through the other windows no matter what I do (stop clicks through doesn't seem to work either.)
Any suggestions? (before I script it all from scratch!)
Thanks

SetLayer only affects the visibility of objects not the events.

You'll have to script a solution.

Hi Jez,

The basic principle is that you have to track what z-order the objects are displayed in on screen. This would mean storing that information in an array that gets updated each time you then bring a new window to the front.

If the objects then overlap, you need to catch the mouse pass through event on each object and check which objects are overlapping and which one has the highest z-order and thus is on top. Because Opus' in build actions will override the script, you'll then need to code a drag and drop rather than use the in-built functionality - so that you can specify the top object to move and maintain the appearance of being above the others.

ok, got it. Custom drag and drop, store z in array.

Thanks
