Video playback issues under Windows (HTML5 is a different kettle of fish), are normally codec based not chipset.

You don't give any details about the video format you are trying to play.


Opus will play two acceptable formats by default - MPEG1 and WMV. The latter does depend on Windows Media Player codecs but except in some usual circumstances, they are installed by default.

System: MSI Dragon Laptop - 8 Core i7, 32gb ram, 2tb hd, GeForce GTX 980
I did not know about the mpg1 and wmv limitations.

I was trying to play mp4 video files. They play fine on any Nvidia chipset, but not others.

MP4 is a very advanced format that has loads of different settings that can affect playback on different devices and also within Opus. You would probably need to use MPEG4 Level Two (Advanced Simple Profile) if MP4 is a must. Though, ensuring that the end machines have the right playback codec might be an issue as QuickTime on Windows is dead. WMV offers HD playback with less issues.
