Since recently I get the following "Warning" in the developer console of my website https://www.airwar4045.nl

loading pref showConsoleLogs before prefs were initialised, you will not get the correct result

Does any one know what this means and/or how to overcome this 'problem'?

Jan

Are you running Ghostery?

BTW, Both Edge and IE9+ are HTML5 browsers.

Hi Mack,

Problem solved; It seems to be Ghostery that did it :)

You're completely correct of course that IE and Edge also are HTML5 browsers, so I've changed the text a little... For now however, these two browsers are the only ones that do not behave like the other browsers.
The problem is in the listing (bottom half of the search screen)... You have to click in the list to get more information and this works in all other browsers (without errors) but in IE and Edge, I get the error "Unable to get property 'text' of undefined or null reference"... It probably can be solved somehow, but haven't had the time to look into it! It's strange however that it works in all the other browsers without the error :?

The behavior between the different browsers is always a problem as I've noticed in making this website as a hobbyist and not as a professional programmer... There are numerous things you have to take care of...
For example the character spacing (best noticeable in the listings) in Chrome, Opera and Vivaldi is as it should be, but IE and Edge shift it some pixels to the left and Firefox is the worst as it shifts almost 6 characters to the left. Perhaps any one with a solution to this problem!?

Greetings from Holland,
Jan

Different browser engines :-)

You can use letter spacing to adjust kerning, but you'll need to use some JS to detect browser type and apply accordingly.

BTW, the site is really good. Works really well and fast.

Thanks for the compliments Mack...

Took me some time to create it, but without the use of Opus Pro and yourself (I've had many tips from you in the past) I couldn't have made it...
Well, it's just a website which shows the capabilities of Opus together with a relational database (MySQL), and though the website is probably of no interest to you, I'm glad to hear that you like it :D :)

About the letter spacing... That's something I've to have a look at, but it's not my priority at the moment; I first want to add more data into the database which already has cost me some 3500 hours of work, and will take me several thousands of hours to complete... But it's a hobby, so it may take some time :D

Greetings from Texel island (Holland) where some 7 cm snow is expected tomorrow afternoon!

Jan
