I'm using OPUS PRO 9.
I've inserted short videos which play when I'm programming
and also when I publish and play on my computer.
When I go to amother computer I see no videos.
My videos are both .mpg
Any ideas please?

I've tried many types of video file and bought software to convert to
all sorts to try but I can only get the video to play on the computer
where I have my Opus 9.
What is an ilm file?
I've tried publishing with one data in the options (not each chapter).
I get an ilm file which is as big as my former complete file
and a much reduced exe file.
If I run the exe file the programme works with videos
but I haven't tried on a second computer yet.
Presumably I need the exe and the ilm together.
I plan to put these on the Internet for others to
download, use and view.
Presumably they need the ilm and the exe and both
in the same location.
But.......... will the exe find the ilm if e.g. the location
of both is, say, on a USB stick which might be G:
Will the exe find the ilm?
Sorry - I'm quite puzzled by all of this.
I've downloaded a bundle of codecs too.
I do hope someone can help.
It's a very informative exe about objecting
to a planning decision.

The .ilm is a data file and created if you choose that option when publishing. Yes, you must have both the executable and the ILM files in the same folder because the exe is the player for the files. No it doesn't matter what the path is - as long as the files are together in the same directory.

Opus uses system codecs for the video playback. It's been a while, and I stopped testing after W7, but on most machines that will mean either MPEG1 or WMV - though the latter might require that Windows' Media Player has been used. Anything else requires a codec but with the exception of QuickTime for MP4 (no longer available for Windows) - everything else can be more trouble than it's worth.

I strongly suggest removing any codec packs you have installed. Decent players and converters will use their own and not system ones and you'll likely cause more problems than you solve with Opus.

Hi
Thanks for all the many posts of support you have added here. I'm sure everyone welcomes
your outstanding help.
I've fiddled around and I think I've managed. I bought a converter and made wmv files
which seem to work ok.
I've uploaded my files to the Internet and downloaded to a different file location and all seems
well now.
Remarkably everything has suddenly seemed to work!
Kind regards
