In one of my projects i use the option to read the next line, and go to the first line. Is there an easy option to make a previous line command?

Kind Regards,
Ad Mulders

If you only ever need to go back one step, you could store the current variable in a previous variable and then read the new line into the current variable.

If you need to step backwards through multiple lines, then you're looking at using an array to hold the file contents and navigating that instead.

Hi Mack,

It would be best to step through the lines so the array option is the best. But then i need a script i think?
Or is it possible with the pre made options?

Kind Regards,
Ad

Yes, scripting would be needed. The following example IMP should give you an idea:

Hi Mack,

I use the file reader script and that works great. Is there a way to enter a number to skip
direct to that line?

Kind regards
Ad

Yes, you need to set the myCounter to the index position you need. To do this from the actions window choose:

Programming > Variables > Set Variable - then select myCounter in the drop-down list AND select the Number radio button and enter the value (index) to jump to.
