Obviously you can also create your own vectors in the Opus editor, plus have gradient fills as well.
Once you have created your finished vector, you can also export it and save it as an ILV file for later use. You can even 'render' it as a bitmap. (right-click on the vector and you will see the render option)
Re: Hotspots on paths...
Hotspots are independent (with total control) and can be used anywhere on the page, or on a vector or path. There is a dedicated "Hotspot" tool on the Toolbar, which will create a hotspot which is visible in the editor, but is actually invisible when previewed (or in your publication).
