Dear all,

I am using Opus PRO 04.
I upgraded to the latest 4.5 release, and I upgraded the HELP files.

I need to know what the Registration ID means. The new HELP file does not seem to have included explanation to this feature.

Many thanks

Hi,

Thank you for your enquiry.

In Opus Pro XE 04, you can protect evaluation publications with a 'Publication ID'. This can be used in conjunction with the 'System ID' (which is generated when the user tries to unlock the publication) to create an 'Unlock ID' (using the Opus Pro XE 04 Key Generator). If the end-user inputs this Unlock ID into the evaluation dialog, the publication is permanently unlocked and can be used without time restrictions. Obviously the end-user has no knowledge of the Publication ID and the character base used by these codes is too large to crack using brute force.

Without the Key Generator, this feature is of no use to Opus Pro 04 users, but we decided to leave this option available so that Opus Pro 04 and Opus Pro XE 04 users could collaborate on projects and be aware that the publication is protected in this way.

Kind regards,
