Is there any way I can set Text effect styles to a default style so that I don't always have to change the style every time I create a text box ??

I know I could save the text box as a component with certain styles but is there any other way ??

Tools -> Options -> Fonts -> Default Font

Allows you to set the default font and styles for each new text block that is subsequently created. Is this what you meant?

Thanks Andrew

but that's not what I meant. In each text box you can customise hypertext styles (like for example red underline whenever the mouse moves over etc..). I was wondering if you could set this to your own default value.

Regards

Hello,
what I have done in the past is to create a template publication containing all the settings that I want to apply to a particulat type of publications so everytime I start a new publication that I know need to have these particular settings I just open the "Publication template" that I have created and just "Save as" given a new name according with the working publication, that way I never alter the template.

I hope this helps
Happy New Year

Thanks, that would be a good idea !

By the way, do you know what the Set Contents as Default command does when you right - click on a text box ? Noone seems to know the answer and it's not in the manual.

Set Contents as Default changes the current contents of a text object to the "default" text. That is, when you click in the text box the default text vanishes and you can enter the "real" text. The default text does not display in the preview or published files.
It is used in the Presenter templates to guide the user where to change the contents The feature is useful if you are creating templates to be used by other people.
