Currently we have a computer here which runs Windows XP embedded. This is a light version of windows XP.

I couldn't get my Opus Presentations running on this computer. Does Digital Workshop maybe have an answer ? does embedded XP miss some elements Opus uses ?

Do you mean that you are running a version of Virtual PC on your computer and you are accessing your opus pubs via the open window on your virtual pc software?? I need to know to let you know what may be the problem
Please clarify...

Opus: Evolution
XP Embedded (or XPE) is a componentised version of XP Professional that allows manufacturers to select the aspects they require for their device. It is are not for standard desktop PCs BUT ATMS, NASs, Settop boxes, etc.

Although XPE does have access to the API and devices & applications of Pro, the EWF and FBWF affect the way disk / file writing occurs which may or may not be the source of the problem.

Having previously used XPE as part of BART - I can say that Opus applications wouldn't run in this environment either (from RAM / not CD).

Would publishing as a FLEX file be possible?

As for VPC, we run Opus publications under this all the time and have experience no issues using W98, 2K XP or Vista. We also have a client that runs them under the Mac version.

We're not using Virtual pc to run our software. The computer which runs XP embedded is a all-in-one solution we received to test. It had XP embedded pre-installed..
