I have just purchased Opus Pro recently and reading the information and what I can understand we can embed AVI and Meg1 Files but either way we will not be able to use windows media player for its interface and controls is there a suggested player we could use.

If there is not a player isn there a way you can create the controls.

The controls I would like to use are: Play, Step/Fast Forward, Step/Rewind Revese and a seek bar on the bottom. Similar to window media controls.

Thanks

Hello Mark,

Buying OPus Pro is a good choice. Until now my imagination is the limit.
Attached you'll find a zip-file which contains a video player I downloaded a long time ago.
I think this is what you want.
Unfortunately I don't know who build it but the credits aren't mine.

I hope this will help you.

Best regards,

Mark,

Welcome to the forum and to the world of Opus play.

Several contributors here on this Forum have had questions around multimedia/video... got their work going in varied uses for Opus.

'Mackavi' just recently posted an example of controls he implemented for video. viewtopic.php?t=3173

You can build the controls using Buttons or other objects and adding triggers & standard actions, or you can get into OpusScript to control. Once you build a Button with a Play/Pause action, you can 'save into a Gallery'... then later just drag and drop that onto a Page. You could also put your video controls onto a Master Page, ETC. ETC.

You'll find other useful info on what formats work and more... Searching the Forum.

Cheers,
Larry

Opus: Evolution
I'm guessing that Duncan from DW wrote this :-)

It demonstrates both the power and diversity of Opus - as ours (Interaktiv's) works in a different way - using percentages and calculating offsets inside frames.

Mark, as Oscar says - you're limited by imagination when it comes to building publications. There seems little that Opus cannot achieve when you consider that you have a powerful visual design interface - access to ECMA scripting, PHP, SQL, DLLs & SCORM in one package.

A few pointers for the video issue:

MPEG1 is probably the best solution if you want to keep things simple. It's been part of Windows since 98SE. AVI IMHO is best avoided.

If you are simply using a video display, rather than any overlay effects, borders, etc - then switch the video mode to On-Top.

Mack
