Hi Lar_123, hi All,

Today I can launch Opus Pro 6 normally for the 3rd day in a row! That's a good new I have to let you know all.

The main change in the past week was uninstalling Antivir and installing Avast. But to fair with Antivir, I do not have any evidence that Antivir was responsible for the bug.

The more I read your posts, the more I suspect registry cleaners to be responsible for cleaning Opus data from the registry. And the the ONLY thing I did not try this week is precisely... registry cleaners.

I use 3 of them alternatively ( I know... it looks strange).
#1. RegCleaner 4.3 build 80
#2. the one in Glarys 2.6.0.128
#3. the one in CCleaner 2.24.1010

In order to understand completely what happens with Opus after a registry cleaning, I am ready to follow this procedure:
a/ Clean registry with 1 of the reg cleaner #1
b/ try to launch Opus Pro
c/ reboot
d/ try to launch Opus Pro again
... and again with #2 and #3

>> feel free to comment the suggested procedure before I launch it.

In case no problem happens with reg cleaner, then I can exclude them. It might also be a problem with 1 or with 2 or 3 of them.

I would appreciate comments from forum users about it:
> does any of you use one of the above reg cleaners?
> did any of you have similar problems + similar reg cleaners?

Thanks in advance

I do not use registry cleaners. I think I avoid registry cleaners.
But if you do rely on them, is there a way to 'whitelist' specific folders in the Registry?

If so, Opus/Dw manages several... different names may include (I'm guessing). In several paths.

Hi all,

This is the end (I hope) of my efforts to solve the "Cannot load version information" message that harassed me for months.

I followed exactly the procedure suggested this morning to identify whether one of my registry cleaners could be guilty of removing Opus information from the registry.

CCleaner and ReCleaner are OK. Opus always restarts.

But Glary Utilities registry cleaner fixes some entries said to be "empty" and, guess what?... then comes the message again: "Cannont load version information".

In conclusion, I am now 99% sure that this long story only results from my frequent use of Glary Utilities software (1-click Maintenance button).
Sorry for Glary Utilities which is a very nice software, but I'll stop using it.

I hope that experience can be helpful for others.

Many thanks to Mack, Lar_123 and Paul for their precious support.

Best regards,
