Opus closes unexpectedly in Editor Mode when the Save Icon is clicked

I sent this to DW Technical Support but my reply email address was incorrect so I will post the problem here.

Has anyone else experienced the problem when working in the editor of a pub with about 150 pages and you click the Save icon on the top menu that Opus just closes. This has happened several times. I started using the Save option the on File menu and never had a problem until just now.

Normally what happens when the saved icon is clicked, the Save resource dialog box opens, saves the imported files, I click OK and then the pub is saved. I can't pin down anything for certain but it seems to happen after I've duplicated 4 or 5 pages. I usually have PSP 9 running in the background.

When I reopen Opus it asks if I want the auto-saved copy and I select yes. I'm missing any duplicated pages and any worked done in text boxes prior to the last save or autosave.

Windows XP Home SP2
512 MB RAM
160GB Drive
Opus 4.30

Thanks

Hi,

Thank you for your enquiry.

We have received no other reports of this issue. Could you please try initialising the Opus registry settings using the following steps and let me know if the problem persists?

- Ensure that Opus Pro 04 is not running

- Click Start > All Programs > Opus Pro 04 to open the program group

- Position the cursor over the Opus Pro 04 application shortcut (but do not click)

- Position two fingers over the Ctrl and Alt keys in the bottom-left of the keyboard

- Left-click on the application shortcut to launch the program, then immediately depress the Ctrl and Alt keys simultaneously and keep them depressed

- A prompt should appear on-screen asking if you wish to clear the application registry settings. Click Yes

- Opus Pro 04 will now launch, but behave like a new installation (displaying the Tip of the Day and Registration screens, which you can close)

- Now load in your publication and try to reproduce the issues previously encountered

I hope this helps. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any further queries.

Kind regards,
