hello
Since Opus V5 I have a problem with the use of script objects in a page.
when i add a script object to a page the script window does not open and i can not edit the script, then i have problem to display the Menus and at end the program crashes.
In Version 4 i have not this problem.
Actually i use only the script action but for some big projects i need to use the script objects.

Let me ask, are you duplicating complete Pages over in the Organizer?

Otherwise, a simple thing to try is to Reset Opus to its defaults. You would lose customizations of the Editor/Workspace, but it might clear-up minor glitches. viewtopic.php?t=471&highlight=launch+alt+ctrl

I myself do not know of the particular problem you describe.

If you have created multiple Script Objects on a page, and somehow have same named functions in more than one script object... it could confuse things. A similar problem could arise if Opus is trying to executing code from multiple script objects... immediately on Page opening (and somehow there are conflicts).

Another possibility is having named host objects and variables with same names.... that is a 'no-no'.

Thank you

The problem that I can not edit the script object.
I can insert a script object in page object , it appears in the organizer but dont let me edit it , I can not write any script because I can not acceed to script window.
an other problem happen afetr that : the background ot the menus become black !!! and I can not exit from Opus . That all the problem
perhaps it is a graphic card or some drivers problem but I have tried it on manu PC's and always the same problem.

I'm afraid you'll have to email DW Support. Best to do this from within Opus program... under the Help Menu.

Otherwise some older post to read, but not specifically a solution here.

An 'afterthought'... before OpusPro v6, the product family was a bit more complex... that is, had more variants. There were DW applications named "opus something" that did not include OpusScript capabilities (perhaps it was only 'Pro' and the 'XE' versions having scripting?).

On an XP system, I'd doubt it was a graphics problem.

I've actually had a few clients with the same sort of problem, although this was normally under Opus 5.0.

However, Lar is right that the resetting the Opus registry value is first thing to do - but I'd go as far as completely removing all Opus files, clearing the registry and ensuring a clean install with you most recent version.

I'd also ensure that any security and registry software is off whilst installing and testing.

Also, if you have corrupted an IMP, particularly an earlier version, then loading this will like cause the problem to re-occur.

Lastly, as method is not madness, you need to create one of these publications with a script object that doesn't work and post it here, that way we can check and repost with a working script if necessary.

Mack
