Anyone else having problems with Avast reporting that Opus publications are malware? A customer reported this issue to me, and sent on the screenshot.

Have contacted Avast about it, but would be interested to know if anyone else had same issue.

Thanks

norton 2010 delete all exe made with opus as soon as you launch this exe. To prevent for that, you have to desactivate the "sonar" protection of norton.

It is becoming more common for AV's to flag compressed files as Malware...
That's because the AV's use Heuristics to make an "educated guess" about what the file is going to do...
That way they can detect 0day malware and virii that have not been added to their databases yet.
It's annoying but I can understand why they do it...

Try turning off file compression while publishing and see if it helps...

Hi LMC,

I checked this under XP / W7 using both a 7.01 and 6.4 published file and the latest version of Avast and nothing, even with the sensitivity set to maximum.

Although, I'm not sure I have much faith in the program, beside the difficult downloads it's reporting odd file counts and size when scanning any file.

Mack

It was an internet download zipped that appeared to cause the issue, Avast has confirmed the issue and are amending in next definition update.

Methinks this software is probably only half vast.
