Hi
Background>I am working on a Touch Screen Presentation and want to display digital images with high resolution e.g. 5Mpixel in original size.

Approach>Load images as 'fxed' type and apply scrollbars to the image.

Problem>When the page is currently selected in Main Tool bar (Crtl+1). everything seems OK (i.e. scrolling of image works fine in preview)
When the page is not selected (i.e. but some other page), when previewing another page and navigating to the image page, scrolling of image does not work any longer. Image seems to be embedded as 'scale-to-fit' type.

Questions> how come? Bug or did I overview some settings?

thank you
nick

Hi Nick,

There does seem to be a problem as you have stated, which also occurs when published. (the issue is the thumb, as the image will still scroll completely if you use the scrollbar arrow buttons)

However there is an easy solution, :) and that is to place the image in a scrollable Frame. Doing this has other benefits also, as you can place other objects within that scrollable Frame. So personally I would always scrollable frames anyway.

In regards to your "Touch Screen Presentation" -- you may like the ability of the user to be able to drag the image about within the scrollable frame. See the attached IMP for a mock up sample. (you'll need to use your own resource images and resize accordingly)

One thing which would be good, is if the image would not drag beyond its boundaries. Perhaps some clever OpusScripter can come up with something here. :D

Hi Steve

thank you! You're a champ.

I did in fact change to frames earlier today - in my opinion not as elegant as in the corner where the scrollbars meet the frame will not cover the underlying picture, which is not the case otherwise. But the workaround works well - which is essential.

The hint about dragging for Touch Screen use is very helpful. :)

And also thanks for the attachment. As always attachments are very useful beyond the scope of the posts.

Nevertheless, I face more inconsistencies with scrollbars, e.g. after duplication of pages containing scrollbars (45 page project) positions of scrollbars get lost and scrollbars hidden.

Thanks again for your reply.
Cheers
nick
