Well, I found out just how rusty I'd gotten with 6 months off. I am in a new position now in Houston and will be building a training program from the ground up for a 3 billion dollar oil drilling company. I am going to be relying on Opus a LOT and will probably be increasingly haunting these hallowed halls in the future.

My first thing is a breaktimer. The first project I am doing is in PowerPoint (has to be so the divisions can change it) and is an all-day new employee safety indoctrination. I want a flexible breaktimer/clock that displays both time and a separate remaining break/lunch countdown with sound at 2 minutes, 1 minute, and zero. For convenience, I'd like settable buttons for 5 minute break, 10 minute break, 15 minute break, and 1 hour lunch, as well as a user set.

I fiddle with the timer function a bit, but it appears to always count up...no good. I am so time-constrained (read: up to mien arsch in alligatores) I can't really spend too much time trying to puzzle this out. Has it been addressed before? Anybody got a download of something similar?

Opus made me a BIG winner in the Army project I got so much help with last year from Robin and others on this group. Letter and reference so good it's embarrassing to state just how good the new company I am working for is treating me. There is even more room for Opus here and I'll be starting on a Forklift training program as soon as I complete this nuisance, then Lock-Tag-Try, and then.....

Kind regards,
Dave

Here is a very quick basic example of one way you could do this.

All it does is when the timer is started it makes a note of the PUBLICATION_TIME and then takes PUBLICATION_TIME minus noted time away from 300.

When the timer hits 120 (2 minutes a text warning is shown.

(Created in 05, If you are not running 05 there is an evaluation copy available from downloads the same method should run in earlier version of Opus)

Just found out about 5 today. I'll be upgrading shortly. 145.00 is quite a jolt for a 1 rev. upgrade, but Opus is the only game in town for me so I expect it to be worth it...

Looking forward to taking a look at this. Thanks for your response.

Kind regards,
Dave
