Hi,

I'm working on a pub which uses quite a lot of video files (Mpeg1) and I would like my users to be able to switch between 2 different scales (same resolution but somewhat larger). The scaling-(hor/ver)-action on right mouseclick does not seem to have any noticable efffect.
In the documentation I can't find any mention of exceptions. I know it can be done in Authorware.
Is there a way to accomplish this in Opus (5 pro)?

Regards,

Ad

I heavily use Video Objects (MPEG-1 files) in my business-to-business interactive presentations. I'd strongly suggest you only use the standard resolution for MPEG-1. Just tick "Fixed" for Video Image rather than using "Scale to Fit."

If you decide to not follow my recommendation, then you will find the larger you stretch your Video Object, the more distortion and grain you will see. If that's not a problem, then first set your Video Object to "Scale to Fit." Next create a Button Object and go to the Animation Actions and select "Scale Horizontal/Vertical." You can experiment how much you want to enlarge your Video Object. I'd say 150% will give you a noticably larger image. On the Button Action, set the TYPE to "Scale To" (otherwise every time the viewer presses this Button, the Video Object would enlarge another 150%. Create a second Button and give it an Action of Animation -> Reset Video Object. The viewer can then return to the highest quality picture.

Hi Demofred,

I tried your tip, but it did not work. The video stays the same size (set scale to fit). It does not seem to have any effect at all.
I'm aware of the blotchy effect scaling has. The video is of course default set in the correct scale (360 X 288). Upgrading the video to full dv-scale (720 X 576) is not possible due to the amount of videofiles. Some users, however, find it useful to boost the scale somewhat for beamer presentations.
The only thing I can think of, is the fact the default videopage I use has a script running which conflicts with the scaling somehow.
Thanks for your trouble anyway.

Regards,

Ad van der Borght
