I wonder if anyone can help me...

Attched is one page from a project I am working on in Pro 05. This is a hidden page (hence the size) to be printed as A4, but for some reason it's not printing the whole image properly. I have had a play around with the settings etc. but can't figure it out - any suggestions why this is happening please let me know.

P.S. Just so I know it's not a problem with my printer could someone try printing this page in Opus Pro and let me know if it prints properly - thanks!

Hi Emma

I'm afraid the imp file that you've attached doesn't have the .jpg image. So, when I tried it out, the resource manager showed this as missing. The page has nothing on it. You'd probably need to consolidate resources when saving, then include the resource folder with .jpg file within a zip file.

Kind Regards,
Stephen

Hi Emma

I added a Print page with a printing button (see attached download) and was able to print (using an HP inkjet) the flower page. Though I chose not to print in color to save ink, I believe the color would have printed OK.

My printer's default setting is portrait, and the entire page was visable. Had I changed the printer to landscape, it may have looked better, but as noted, the portrait version showed all flowers.

I'm not familiar with A4 paper, so I printed using standard letter size 81/2X11. After that, I did set A4 in the printer dialog, and scale to fit, which produced a complete printed version of the flowers, identical to the first try. I'm not sure how the printing would work with A4 paper, though I suspect it would work OK.

When you set up the print action, you can check the boxes to show printer dialog and cancel dialog at the bottom of the tab, allowing the viewer to change page orientation, color/greyscale, etc.

So, if you're not able to print, I don't believe it's in the pub, may may be related to printer set-up, etc.

Hope this helps.

Kind Regards,
Stephen

Thanks for trying that - unfortunately my printer still isn't printing the full image.

Strangely the original jpeg file prints with no problem on the same printer - when I don't print it from Pro 05, so I would have thought it's unlikely to be a problem with the printer or a fault with the jpeg.

Hi Emma

Not sure what's going on. :?

I didn't find a trigger for the print action in your original imp file. How are you triggering the printing? I'm assuming that you want the viewer to be able to print the image on their printer when viewing the publication. How does this occur?

Also, are you using the latest version, 5.5?

Another option would be to send the files to DW Support to see if this is a known issue, suggest some remedies.

Kind Regards,

Stephen

I am using version 5.14.

Sorry - I sould have been more clear about the page I attached before. This was just one page with no triggers etc. so that someone could try and print it out from Pro and tell me if it prints correctly.

In the pub that I'm working on the print is triggered from another page (the orange flowers page is hidden). At the moment when I print the page, the image stops printing properly about 3/4 the way down the page. I have printed pages this size before in other Pro publications and they have all worked fine, it's only in this particular pub that I'm having trouble - and not just with this 'orange flowers' page, but with all of them of this size.

I will publish this project to CD-R and try and print on another printer and see what happens.

Hi Emma

While it may make no difference to the printing issue, you may wish to update your Opus software to 5.5 via the DW support download page:

http://www.digitalworkshop.com/download ... vice.shtml

No cost and an easy update installation.

Then, just in case this update could make a difference, or updating usefully re-sets something, I would re-open the pub in 5.5, re-save it and try the printing again. Sometimes, when a pub is behaving temperamentally, this sort of fix works. :)

Kind Regards,
Stephen

Emma,

I don't know if this is your problem. I test ran your OrangeFlower_test.imp file using a HP laser jet using "letter" size paper and 2/3 of the way down the page the image starting printing streaks. I then checked you Chapter size and found the following.

In the sample pub OrangeFlower_test.imp you have the Chapter size set at; 1240 x 1754.

The image size is 2480 x 3508.

I changed the Chapter size to the image size and it printed OK on letter size paper.
