When a user right-clicks in my flex pub, though the menu parameter has been set to 'false' in the html page, there is still a menu item available 'about macromedia flash player 8' which opens a new browser window outside of of my Opus pub. Is there any way to avoid this?
It makes it more-or-less impossible to use the flex within an Opus pub in a kiosk.... unless I'm missing something.
:(

OK, so I think I've worked out for myself there's not much to be done. I suppose the solution is to use a touch screen, assuming that they don't have right mouse actions...

A touch screen should solve the problem. The menu is beyond Opus' control, as it is generated by the Flash player.

The only options I have seen are to place a transparent gif over the top of the swf file but this prevents any click going to the swf so can only be used for rolling demos.

A touch screen is the best idea so that you don't have wear on the mouse and cord. If you did have to go with a mouse you could get one of the fancy ones that comes with the software for programming the buttons to do extra functions. I believe I saw in one I looked at a while back that you could program the right button to do nothing or the same as the left button. Anyone have a programable mouse they could look at?

BTW isn't there a keybord shortcut to activate right click options? Be carefull, you could still have that option there for the computer heads that know shortcuts.

You could remove the microswitch from the right mouse button, super-glue it up or snip its wire.

thanks for replies.
FWIW I'm trying to show Flashpaper swf files in a browser window.
I have found that by making the browser window a bit narrower than the size set for the flash document in the html page the edge of the browser window actually conceals the print button at the right-hand edge of the document.
By using a frameset html page to show the html page which has the flash embedded I can disable the browser scrollbar so the user cannot scroll right and see the print button. (I don't want users to get a printer dialogue box.)
There is also a parameter setting for the swf file which removes the 'open in new window' button in the flash document.
So, if I can remove the right click (and superglue sounds like a good option because the user will still have access to a scrollwheel) then the user cannot breakout of my pub.
:)

Keyboard shortcut for right click is: Shift + F10

This may be helpful, list of all keybord shortcuts. I still think you need to be aware of this.
