Hi,
New to Opus.
How do I :-

When I add an image and try to add a special effect.....it just goes on special effecting. How do I get it to stop whizzing around shortly after the audience have lifted their jaws off the floor, but just before they get bored with the effect?

Can I time events i.e. get one transition to finish then another transition starts?

Phil,

Which effect are you referring to?

If you want one effect after another the best tool to use is the time line, this will allow you to visually see when one effect ends and the best time for further effects.

Phil --

Welcome! Glad you chose OPUS! Great choice.

Please go into your Profile and under Signature, add info on your computer & which OPUS / version you have. It really helps us -- help you.

Now to your question. There are lots of things in OPUS which I would call "Special Effects." I'm not sure if you are talking about an Animation, a Transition, or Text Animation.

If you mean Transition, then it should only happen when you first Show the Object,or when you Hide it. You can select from a huge list of possible Transitions, and you can control the length of time it takes to Fade, Reveal, Scroll, etc. Look under the Transitions tab in Properties. The drop down list (See MORE when you first start using Transitions. OPUS will remember the last few you've used in the drop down list).

Same thing if you meant Text Animation. Different list of effects, but you can control the length.

Animations can bounce around on the Page, in a Frame Object, or along a Path. Please let us know which you are referring to, so we can give you details of controlling your Animation.

OPUS has a Timeline which you can use to make Objects Hide & Show so your Transition or Animation can cycle as often as you'd like. For example, having a Text Object Scroll on, then Fade off, then repeat 8 seconds later -- over and over.

Is this a Slideshow Object? Within the Properties window, you can set the number of times the images show with a different Transition each time, which you can control each one's length.

We'll be glad to help you. You just have to "pass it on" when a question pops up from someone that YOU know the answer to in the future.
