It is possible that the Windows 98 does not have any ODBC drivers installed. Please download the latest Microsoft Data Access Components (MDAC) from
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/deta ... laylang=en and install these on the Windows 98 to see if this resolves the problem.
If the problem persists, it sounds as though you have used one of the regionalised Access ODBC drivers, such as "Driver do Microsoft Access" or "Microsoft Access Treiber" when setting up the DSN. These drivers have not been updated by Microsoft for some time and have been known to cause problems on Windows 95, 98 and ME systems.
Please recreate the DSN, but ensure that you use the English "Microsoft Access Driver". You should now find that the publication operates on all systems without problems.
