Today I opened a project on which I was working some weeks ago.

At first sight I saw that some of the texts look some kind of jaggy.

When looking for the anti-alias settings for this text I found that they were gone.
On the register "Text" the place where the settings should be is empty.

Since this is a flex publication I wonder if that can be the reason for the missing anti-alias settings?

The font I used for this text is "MS Reference Sans Serif" but it's the same with other fonts like "Arial".

Interistingly the font preview in the font list IS anti-aliased. I wish I could do the same with my jaggy texts.

Help is very appreciated.

Flex has no options to change the anti-aliasing, since Flash always anti-aliases text.

Duncan,

thanks for your reply.

Is it possible in some way to anti-alias the texts in authoring mode?

I like to render some of the texts before publishing because there are some difficulties belonging flash exported texts.
E.g. the positions of texts and sometimes the fonts are not exactly the same as in authoring mode.

I think I have done this in the past but can currently not find a way to anti-alias the texts in authoring mode to have a chance to render them.

The only way would be to temporarily switch to the normal Opus publication type; render the object and then switch back. Or just have a second Opus publication open to create the text and then copy the rendered image between publications.

Duncan,

thanks a lot for your advice.

Maybe this is something for the wishlist belonging a former posting of mine belonging the possibility to auto-render texts when exporting to flash.
