I want to be able to draw a line from a fixed point to a point that varies depending on where a user clicks. Simple enough, but I cannot seem to be able to access the co-ordinates needed to set the vector using OpusScript.
Is this possible? If it is, where in the documentation is it found?

Regards

Clive

I'm afraid this is not possible in Opus at the moment.

We are considering the possibility of adding a script interface for creating simple shapes and lines for a future version, but I cannot promise that it will make the final list of new features or as to when that product might be released.

while Opus cannot draw a line at runtime from script alone, you can rotate, translate and scale lines to follow the mouse from a fixed point.
This will give exactly the same effect.
I already use this method to draw polygons at runtime that can be dragged into different shapes by a user.

Paul,

I would be interested in viewing your examples. I had considered this as an option by I needed a quick fix to finish a quiz off quickly.

Hi Paul

Clive suggested this old posting as a lead in a reply to a current posting:

viewtopic.php?p=8588#8588

I have been trying to create a work-a-round to offer the end-user the ability to draw or scale/rotate lines between 2 drag and drop objects that they position on a page in runtime. (It's a pedigree/genogram creation tool in a standard Opus Professional pub that allows the end-user to clone, drag and drop squares, circles and other symbols on a "canvas" to represent family members.)

Your mention above of a way to do something similar may contain a solution.

At this, on and off for quite a while, I would greatly appreciate any ideas/leads to create a work-a-round. An example (imp file attachment) of the solution mentioned would also be appreciated.

Kind Regards,
