Hi Paul

Yes, exactly the same, including the pop-up. My Vista OS is OEM on my new machine.

The best solution will be for DW to provide a link for a full download. Then the current Opus v6 will need to be uninstalled and replaced by the new and updated version.

Kind Regards,

Thanks for the detail Paul, this helps. Duncan's looking into it now. It is of course perfectly possible that its not Vista and we're patching the wrong Opus version and that version also just happens to be the one we've tested the patch on. (We're often on a newer build here as we test the next release.)

Steve, unfortunately the solution is not to simply provide the link to the full version as we then have to generate individual secure links for all our customers rather than release a patch which will upgrade existing customers without making the whole program available to all and sundry.

Can you confirm that you are sole user with full admin rights and you have tried the install with the UAC on and off. Perhaps you can continue this via support@digitalworkshop.com rather than plod through it all on the forum.

Just to clarify the position with Evolution customers. They get to play with the release candidate for a Service Release and upgrades before anyone else as a final test. We don't hold back maintenance releases because they've got new features in, or only provide them to Evolution subscribers. When we have new features these are provided to Evolution customers as and when they are available but we do a separate build for this. Those new features will then ultimately be included in the next major upgrade at which time the two builds will merge again.

Hi Paul

Yes, I'm sole user with administrative rights. I'm afraid the patch fails (unable to find a valid copy of Opus v6 in the program files folder, although it is present) with UAC on or off. I'll drop a note to support and follow up there.

Kind Regards,

I called Microsoft today and they are not saying when SP1 for Vista will be released. Main point is, has anyone downloaded the RC for SP1 for Vista and checked if that cleans up any of the issues caused with Vista?

I understand the annoyance DW must have to face with this, it puzzles me to think how Microsoft could get it so wrong. Also the 100 million copies are all new systems bundled with it.

Every new computer I have tried with Vista has been ok at running the Opus produced exe.

I have no problems with Opus pubs running on Vista ( more than 30 Vista PC's have my Opus pubs installed).

Installed Vista SP1 RC yesterday but didn't expect to see much difference.
I have read on various MS forums that Vista SP1 will be mainly a collection of updates that most people will already have if they have automatic updates enabled.
It is not as extensive as XP SP2 was.
