Hi,

I'm building an OPUS SCORM FLEX publication and wonder how the anti alias settings for texts work. I have a simple text field (font = arial, size = 14). I can switch on or of the anti aliasing but cannot see any effect on the text.

Flex (or rather Flash) will always anti-alias your text, irrespective of any setting you specify.

We will look at disabling those controls when working on a Flex publication for a future release.

... this would be helpful because the antialiased texts are alway a little bit unsharp especially when using small text fonts.

Sorry, I meant disabling the controls in Opus so people don't think they will have an effect - as far as I know we cannot prevent Flash from anti-aliasing the text - it's what it does. (I may be wrong, I didn't write the Flash export but that is my understanding of it anyway)

... a solution for this prob could be to optionally render all texts before exporting to flash. In this case the user is free in formatting the texts and you got the same text display results on all machines independent of browser or flash plugin version etc.

But in contrast to the actual text render function this should be done automatically within the export process to maintain the possibiltiy to edit the texts.

... I have checked how anti alias works in flash mx 2004. You can switch it on or off. So this is obviously not a restriction of flash itself.

I would appreciate if you can solve this issue in one of the next SRs because it is currently not possible to write clear and sharp text in flex publications.
