Hello,
I am wondering if anyone can list the things that Pro has that Creator does not.
Thanks,
Michael

A license that allows you to sell publications produced with it.

Creator is intended for home users who want more power than Home & Photo provides, while not costing as much as a fully commercially licensed version of Pro or Pro XE.

Actually I think Duncan is getting confused between our forthcoming home user product Home&Photo (which is what Duncan is describing) and Creator.

The difference between Creator and Pro is primarily scripting and database support which the latter provides and the former does not. Opus Creator is what Illuminatus or Opus Standard used to be, a simple codeless authoring tool. And it DOES have a commercial licence so you can create products for resale.

We're working on a comparison list which we'll post here when its complete but we have a few more releases in the pipeline too so it may be a week or two yet

If there's anything specific you want to know just ask.

Paul

Thanks, Paul. That's just the info I needed. I currently use Opus Pro 2.81. I may need to buy another license for my brother, and saw Creator. I may get that for him, because the stuff he will be working on will not need Database or scripting.
Thanks again,
Mike

I just bought a copy for my brother. I'm glad Digital Workshop could release this great product at such a low price.

Now, is there an upgrade price for going from Opus Pro 2.81 to Opus Creator? I would like to get myself a copy, also.

Mike

Mike,

Thanks for the order.

Didn't envisage Pro users wanting to "downsize" but the Presenter upgrade pricing can apply. You might need to tell sales I said so, if you order before I can tell them myself :-)

Thanks, Paul. The reason I'm wanting to do it is because I wanted to buy my brother a copy of Opus, but don't have the moola to do that and buy myself an upgrade, so I was going to continue to work in 2.81. But now that I can get a lower upgrade price, I'm going to do that, because I have never used scripting or database stuff before.
Thanks for the opportunity to make my brother and myself happy! :D
