Just wondering about the DVD side of Opus.

If I open a new blank DVD pub and also an existing normal pub and then add the contents of the first page of the normal Opus Pro 5.13 pub to the new blank DVD pub – and then continue like this for several pages – scaling each object because I notice the DVD pages are smaller than normal pub pages - I wonder what the results would be on publishing. How much content would survive in the DVD pub.

Has anyone done this as a way of saving time so pubs that are seen on the computer screen can now also be seen on the TV screen? - or would I have to start afresh?

Glenn

You don't need to scale the pages. The DVD page sizes are there for convenience, but you can actually use any page size you want and the DVD publisher will sort it out.

As for the content, everything will look the same (except a few things that aren't supported), the difference is the lack of interactivity. If your publication is a rolling demo with no user input, then it should work fine as a DVD with no change. Even if it does require user interaction, you can use the mouse recorder feature to record mouse movements that will then be played back on the DVD. This is useful for creating a DVD demo version of an interactive publication.

To create a genuine interactive DVD probably will require a bit of a rethink of your publication because of the very basic interactivity available on DVD.

The things that aren't supported on DVD are: Browser/OLE objects, Quicktime, search, bookmarks and printing.
