Hi,
Anyone know of a way to have a pub start automatically:
Example: I want to have a publication (pub.exe) start up on it's own after the user downloads it to his or her computer. Any ideas or batch files that will do this?

Thanks,
Chris

Hi
I believe all you have to do is put some instructions advising people to choose "open" rather that "save" when they click on the link.
I hope this helps

I'm looking for a solution that launches a pub.exe after it has been downloaded. Example: The user downloads the file and saves it to his or her computer. The pub then launches after say 30 seconds. Any ideas?

Thanks Much,
Chris

Can I ask: 30 seconds after what?

Are you wanting your pub to run automatically without some specific action by the user?

My experience has been than many computer users resent having control of their computers taken away by auto running applications.

May be you don't mean this. I wasn't clear from your explanation.

There is no way to automatically run an application after downloading it from a web browser - imagine the security implications! Even the "Run" option when downloading files has been removed from recent browsers (Firefox et al) and service releases of IE.
