Having scripted around problem
viewtopic.php?t=1240
I now find that I get a very informative message telling me that there was an export failure when publishing my work-in-progress as a Flex publication.
The error message gives no indication of the problem, and it was only by stepping backwards through the sequence of events added to the publication that I was able to ascertain where the issue lay.
Generally speaking, I am very pleased with the way Opus performs, and in the past I have developed several (complex) courses and other forms of interactive media.
I am however, getting very frustrated with the products ability to export to flash. (Note that this is the first time I have had to use it).
I am aware that that;
a) Opus has limitations when exporting to Flash. I can live with these as long as they are documented. I should not have to second-guess what the limitations are.
b) That Opus was designed for interactive publications, not as a Flash replacement. However, as I have invested a considerable amount of time and effort in using Opus, AND Opus is supposed to have the ability to export Flash files, I would like to think that when things do go wrong, I would get some sort of response from DW even if it consisted of “Tough, it does not do that!”
Should these issues be fixed in Opus Pro 05, then I am more than happy to put my hand in my wallet and upgrade. Either way, some form of acknowledgement would be nice.
So DW, any comment?
Best regards and getting more frustrated by the minute,
Pete.
