I'm trying to set up a text box with a hanging indent and it doesn't seem to be giving me the results I am expecting. I don't know if my expectations are off or if the tool is not doing what it should do.

What I am trying is to create a series of paragraphs with the first line flush with the left margin and subsequent lines indented 20 points or so.

I go to the Paragraph dialog box and select a left indent of 0, set the Special Indent at Hanging and set it at a value of 20. (see graphic attached)

With those settings I expected the first line to be flush with the left of the text box and the subsequent lines inset by 20. What I see instead is the first line indented by 20 and the following lines indented another 20.

Is this right?

BTW, I have Pro XE 5.14 installed. I just haven't changed my sig yet.

Hi Tom,

As far as I can see this is right.
If you want to use a workaround I think you have to move your text object 20 pixels to the left.

I also think it should be better if only the second and next lines should indent 20 pixels.

Kind regards,
