Hello
I am new to Opus Pro but I have mastered some of the basics. I wonder if anyone can give me a head start with a little project for some special needs education pupils.
I need to have 2 areas on a page. In area 1 there will be several images. The images can dragged across to area 2. I need a print button that when clicked will print only the images that have been dragged to area 2. I can set things up but can't get the printing part to work.
If anyone can help I would be very grateful.
Thanks

Hi Sloop

If you only have several objects, then here is an idea that I would try.

I would assign a variable number to each object that increments if the object is dragged and dropped.

I would then create hidden pages that have all the combinations of images. For example a page with image 1, another page with image 2, and another with image 3 and another with images 1 and 3 and so on.

I would then attach an action to the print button that for example says

If variable dragged = 3, print page 3 else if var dragged = 4, print page 4 etc.

Do you get the idea?

If not, please advise and I'll knock up a basic pub for you over the weekend

Cheers

Graham

Hi Graham
Thanks so much for the reply.
I get the principle of what you have described (I think!) but I'm afraid that setting this up might be a bit too far ahead for me just yet. I only started using Opus pro a few days ago!
Maybe my project for the kids needs to be a bit simpler to begin with. Trouble is, I work with Autistic kids and I need a printable visual timetable for them with images that they have selected. The ones they don't select don't need printing hence my project description. There might be 20 images of which they could select 10.
Thanks again for your suggestion. I'll try and give it some serious thought!
best regards
John

Another down and dirty way would be to use 2 sets of the same image, one hidden in the second area - a frame. When the first copy of the image is dropped, the first is hidden and the image in the frame is shown. Set a print button to "Print object on current page - Frame with shown objects." Additionally you could also hide all the first set of objects before printing, although it's not necessary.

Another way - Using just one set of images, set a variable when the image is dropped. Using a button, hide images not dropped before printing.

And, Graham, it is nice to see you around!

Thanks to everyone for the suggestions.
I'll take a look at these and see if my opus pro ability (such as it is!) can come up to the mark.
Thanks again.
John

Chris and Roxie - thanks for your welcome back message!

Sloop - you are doing well. Remember, we all once were, where you are at now.

(Sounds like the saying on the sign at the Cappucchin crypt in Roma)

Have a great weekend

Cheers

Graham
