I have been experimenting with Databases in XE 05 and have successfully managed to create what I wanted to do. Except Images, I can follow how to insert a text variable but if you create an image frame there is no Insert Variable option.

Have tried to replicate the sample images in XE 05 samples and note that it makes use of <SYSTEM_PUBLICATION_DIR><image> . I have traced the Database back to the samples folder and I note that the image files have also been placed as Text format as opposed to OLE objects, this also adds to the confusion. Anyone got any ideas?

You can use a variable in an image object by using <> brackets. take a look at the attached image. (you may need to click on it to see it clearly.)

In this example the image object will show the image file contained in the variable called myvar.
