Hi all,

I want to play video tutorials created in Camtasia Studio in Opus Pro.
Is this possible?

What are the limitations [file size etc.] if any?

Are there any better ways of doing this?

Thanks for your help in advance.

Hi Cruzer

For those of us ignorant about Camtasia Studio, can you tell us in what format Camtasa creates its output?

Does it have capacity to export in other formats? As listed in the Help files, Opus supports these formats:

Quote:
Movies:
Microsoft Video (.ASF, .AVI, .WMV)
Autodesk Animator (.FLI, .FLC)
Animated GIF (.GIF)
Mulitple-image Network Graphic (.MNG)
MPEG (.MPG)
QuickTime (.MOV) (requires QuickTime to be installed).
Macromedia Flash (requires QuickTime or Flash to be installed).

If Camtasia can export to any of these formats, your problem might be solved.

If Camtasia does not support these formats, I suggest that a vsit to somewhere like download.com and a search for something like "convert Camtasia" might locate a low-cost or free 3rd party program to make the conversion from Camtasia possible.

HTH

Hi Cruzer,

I also use Camtasia Studio for a while and there is no difference with other video formats.
You have the choice to embed the video into Opus or to place the videofiles into the publication dir.

Most important for limitations of video are the computers you want to run your application on and the size of the cd, dvd or hard disk you want to distribute your application on.

I prefer mpeg or flash as output from camtasia to use in projects, but others like avi and wmv are also possible.

Kind regards,

I play Camtasia generated output from within Opus all the time.

I use the CamPlay.exe file to ensure videos are played in the Camtasia player, with the native TSCC codec.

Works for me without problems.
