Hi, Is there a way to reliably retain transparency in Flash files. I have produced a test flash movie and it appears to work OK. However, when I publish the movie and open it in a browser the transparent areas reappear as black rectangles.

I have attached the original Opus file. This is only a test so the graphics are a bit grim.

The confetti retains correct tranparency but the church and the cars do not.

Martin

It's a little hard to tell cause you didn't enclose the resources so no photos. I substituded other photos and it appeared to work OK. I am using Flash 8 as the plug-in on my I.E. Maybe it's your Flash Player version.
Send your resources so we might be able to see the whole situation.

Thank you for your help,

Sorry I omitted resources. I will attach the zip file and include the Flash files.

I edited the car and the church using Xara Extreme and PSPX. The transparency is obtained by using pure black in the .gif with the areas I want to see being given a value of something like #101010.

It works OK when I view it in Opus, but when I look at it in the browser the black areas re-appear.
