I have a publication which has run reliably for more than a year. I use a timeline to display and hide names. The names are inserted variables in a text box. The variables are globally available. Now, when I go in to the timeline to look at the transition used to display and hide the text, I keep getting an error "TEXT EXPR (1,0) UNIDENTIFIED IDENTIFIER 'NAME1', repeated for all the other text variables. The variables are tickable, so it sees them, but for some reason, the ticked boxes keep being unticked??

Hi,

Thank you for your enquiry.

Is the 'name1' variable definitely visible in the list of Publication variables (Publication > Publication Properties > Variables)? If not, please add this variable to the list and I suspect that the problem will be resolved.

If the variable is listed, please try deleting the contents of the text box and reinserting the variable, then check if the error is displayed.

If the problem persists, could you possibly forward me your .imp file (either by uploading to the forum or by e-mailing support@digitalworkshop.com) and I will see if I can reproduce the problem and find a solution.

Kind regards,

Robin Garrett

thanks Robin,

"""Is the 'name1' variable definitely visible in the list of Publication variables (Publication > Publication Properties > Variables)? If not, please add this variable to the list and I suspect that the problem will be resolved. """

Yes, the variable is visible under properties.

"""If the variable is listed, please try deleting the contents of the text box and reinserting the variable, then check if the error is displayed."""

I tried that, made no difference.

It's only in the time line where I use 'SHOW' to display the variable. and I have just noticed I only get the error if I apply a transition, when I click on 'This Transition' is when I get the error.
I'll send the imp file to you.
Thanks

This sounds like an issue which affected version 04.10, but was resolved in Service Release 2.

Please check which version of Opus you are using by clicking Help > About Opus Professional > System Information. If the Version number reads 04.00 or 04.10, please download and install the Service Release 2 update from ftp://ftp.digitalworkshop.com/pub/opusu ... 04_SR2.exe and see if this resolves the problem.

Kind regards,
