My client would like the search box to match the format/style of the whole doc.

I can't seem to find appearance properties for the search box.

How can I change the basic colors for the box?

Thank you!

Hi Margaret

I won't pretend to be an expert on Publication Search having not used it.
(I use HTML Help Files instead with their own indexing and search capacity and set up a launch within the pub. HTML Help and the earlier WinHelp, I believe, are free utilities available from Microsoft. Context sensitive, I have scripted links within a pub to specific HTML help file pages connected topically to items in a pub.)

I took a quick look at the Publication Search action. This is a very nice feature. It appears to use the default Windows dialog box that a viewer would have as a display on their computer. If that's the case, I would guess that altering the dialog box's appearance would involve the viewer changing it in their individual computer's display properties.

Perhaps, more experienced Forum colleagues or the DW team can suggest a way to modify this action's dialog box appearance via the pub itself.

Best Wishes,
Stephen

You can also implement the search functionality as an Opus page and then style it to match the rest of your publication. An example search dialog you could modify is provided in the Components gallery.
