We have video running on a TV monitior. The video includes text, and seems to be quite stable.
When I exported an Opus pub to DVD, one page with text boxes appearing and disappearing, I found that the text flickers to the point of being unacceptable.
Is there some setting I need to modify to get the text to settle down?
any advice much appreciated...

Hi,
I used font Arial black 12, in my case the text colour was white with a darker background colour and was sucessful on DVD. Previously I tried various fonts with different results including the flicker. Perhaps if you try a selection of font types and sizes which display the same text then publish the page for DVD and you will see it involves a bit of trial and error to see which looks best.
Regards
John

Not sure what "no text" means - in your first post you explicitly mentioned the text.

Anyway, what size are your pages? If they are large then Opus will have to size then down to DVD video resolution, which could introduce scaling artifacts. When creating a DVD publication it is always best to create it at the correct size (set on the chapter properties as DVD or DVD widescreen) to avoid scaling issues.

thanks for replying.
'no text' meant no text in the body of my email - sometimes people think you've pressed submit before you've intered the message :)
I did scale my pages as DVD format in the chapter properties.
Someone who knows about video told me that it is to do with contrast at the edges of the text and the way the screen refreshes??
He agrees that combinations of background and foreground colour can emphasise the flicker. In his video system he says he blurs text slightly to minimise the effect, although I must say that the text on my pages when rendered to video is pretty soft.
It may be an old monitor issue, and I know we should replace it with an LCD screen....
