Here is what I am trying to do;

I want to count backwards from the end of a string until I find a particular letter and then replace everything from that letter to the end of the string with something else.

Can anyone help?

Regards

Hi,

Going by this question it would appear you are not using Input Boxes, as text could be simply highlighted and replaced. You may have to give more information on exactly "how" you anticipate to count backwards.:?:

If you plan on doing it manually (counting each character backwards), then have a look at the attached IMP. I have also included the Input Box method which is a bit more automated.

It would be good if you elaborate on your question though. ;) (as some script guru may be able to help better).

You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

Hi Steve

Thanks for the reply, but I could not find the attached IMP file. In any event, I managed to solve the problem (seems hard to believe :roll: )

However, I am now stuck over trying to make a declared variable available to all pages. e.g.

page 1: user = "Me"
page 2: sometext.SetSelection(0,-1)
sometext.ReplaceSelection("Sorry!"+user+"\n")

Any help would be great.
