Can anyone help...I need to make a counter that shows a number counting up, showing everytime a product is used from our company. I don't want to reinvent the wheel if someone has already written a script for this

The number would go up once say every 3 seconds and there would be a digital display on a big screen

Any suggestions gratefully recieved

thanks

Jon

Hi Jon,

Your question is a little confusing, as you seem to indicate you want a counter to increase every time a product is used, but then you say you want a counter to go up every 3 seconds. In either case, scripting is not needed (unless you want it in scripting)

See attached of a very simple mock-up IMP file. (showing script and non-script) I'm not sure what you want, but it may help in working out what you want to do. There are other ways of accomplishing the same result (like a Ticker action for the 3 second timer increment), but the IMP is just a basic example.

Hi Steve,

Thanks for the help, In fact I have worked out a way of doing and have completed the project.

I needed an automated counter that counted up each time somethng is used say every 4 seconds. I have attached it. The first page is where the parameters are entered and the next pages show the counter

I wonder if anyone could help me with a similar issue? I attempted to look at the above files, but I currently own an old Opus Pro edition & it won't open correctly.

I would like a counter for a simple gallery setup, a thumbnail with texted number below each thumbnail that counts the views everytime the thumb is clicked.
Haven't used Opus for quite a while & a small project oppurtunity has arisen that it seems ideal for, I could possibly justify an upgrade if this succeeds, but not at present. Struggling to get my head around the program again!

Any suggestions would be much appreciated! Thanks!

Hi Reg

Steves example does exactly what you are asking. Each time a button (it could be a thumbnail) it increases a count by one..

I think the upgrade is well worth it, I upgraded sometime ago and there are loads of improvements over the earlier Opus

Hi Reg,

Welcome to the forum...

See attached IMP file done in old Opus Pro 2.81

This can be imported into v4 to v5.5 of Opus.

I agree with Jon... I don't know what version of Opus you have but you should consider upgrading. The features in v5.5 are outstanding. :)

Thanks Jon & Steve,

Steve that is just what I wanted, thanks very much!

My Opus Pro is very old indeed, I had to update it to 2.81 to get the script to work. Have been doing very different graphics for the last four years & hadn't installed Opus on my new system a few years back. Will look into the new versions at some point!

Thanks for the welcome!

Cheers.
