Is there a way I can set up a publication where some of the images remain outside the stand alone publication so the user can change them? I’m assuming the images will have the same names as those being replaced.

Hi Chris,

I am sure that there are more elegant solutions - but this one works for me:

If you haven't already published your Opus file then do so and create a separate folder (call it "images" for example) within your publication directory to store your images and put your default images in here .

Now use this in the filename properties for an image:

<SYSTEM_PUBLICATION_DIR>/images/image1.jpg

and so on for each image in your publication.

Use the "Distribution Wizard" to create a new distribution making sure that you include your executable Opus file, your images folder and any other files you need in your distribution (but not the ".imp" file or the publication resources folder). When your users run the resulting setup file your executable file will be created along with a folder called images containing all your default images. Your users can now save their own versions of the image1.jpg (and so on) to the images folder.

You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.
